Anticline

Anticline sits on the east side of Qikiqtaruk Kungna (Firth River) in a small steep rolling valley. The site, likely created by our Early (Thule) Inuit ancestors, lies on a series of gravel terraces, and includes tent rings, hearths, caches, caribou drive lanes and possible houses. Most of the animal remains are caribou. In the 1940s and 60s, gold mining was practiced here, as it was along much of the Firth, often by Inuvialuit families.
