Lagoon

At the mouth of the Masik River is the Lagoon site, a 2500 year old site comprised of hearths, dwellings, and a wide variety of well-preserved tools. It was occupied by a poorly understood group of people whose tools have similarities with both earlier and later groups within the Tuniit period. The remains of seals, muskox, caribou, arctic hare, and birds indicate that these Old Timers camped here from late winter to early summer.
