Nasogaluak

Nasogaluak is a large camp site in the interior of Banks Island on the Thomsen River. This site was used by Inuvialuit hunters and trappers from the late 1800s onwards. It was named for the Nasogaluak family, longtime residents of Ikaahuk (Sachs Harbour). The many caches, tent rings and qarmat (spring/fall houses) suggest that this site was used in the warmer seasons—spring through fall.
