Igluqpait / Fort McPherson

 The Hudson's Bay Company establishes a trading post at present-day Fort McPherson near the junction of the Peel and Mackenzie rivers. Inuvialuit begin traveling upriver regularly to trade, calling the post Igluqpait ('big houses').
