Grollier Hall Closes

1950–1999

Sir Alexander Mackenzie School in Inuuvik opened in 1959 with two residences for students from outlying communities. Stringer Hall was operated by the Anglican Church and closed in 1975. Grollier Hall was run the Roman Catholic Church until 1987, when it was taken over by the Government of the Northwest Territories until they closed it in 1996.
